The colors of this teardrop Polychrome Jasper pendant necklace are striking!. This magnificant pendant has been encased in beads and then hung from a hand beaded necklace using the chenile stitch in the same colors. (see photo for reverse of pendant also.)
 
Polychrome Jasper is a variety of Jasper recently discovered in Madagascar. In 2008 while exploring for more deposits of the highly desired Ocean Jasper, the first deposit of Polychrome was accidentally discovered. Since then, two additional deposits have been found throughout the island! Interesting to note is that all material must be hand dug due to the difficult terrain and conditions.
 
The necklace measures 18" and is closed with a sterling silver sundial toggle clasp.
