This elegant silver pod and bone beaded necklace is a new extension of the work I am doing in metal clay. It was created in class where I learned to make 2-sided molds of items from nature and combine them into an interesting work of art.
 
I designed a beaded necklace to hang it from, using super duo beads and seed beads. The colors of green, blue and beige are intended to evoke the natural surroundings of where the pod and bone came from.
 
The pendant is pure silver metal clay. The molds are from a hardened pod and a bone found in a creek. The bone had such an intriguing shape and served well as the base of the design. The pod wraps nicely around the bone.
 
The necklace measures 18" and is closed with a pure silver toggle clasp, also made by me.
