This California Poppy beaded necklace was inspired by the poppies that I see in my neighborhood. The pendant is a pure silver unique creation, and the beaded necklace incorporates the same shades of orange and green in the poppy itself.
 
The California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is the state flower of California and is an easy to grow annual flower found almost everywhere around the state.
 
This is the second in a series of silver pendants that I am creating to celebrate the beauty of nature around us. The bone background is a mold from a bone found in a creek, and the poppy itself was hand constructed.
 
The necklace measures 19" and is closed with a Thai silver "S" clasp.
